Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 23 October 2026 · Dear Cupid Limited, company number 17232358
Dear Cupid is a place for kindness, honesty and genuine connection. This policy sets out what is and isn't allowed, everywhere on the platform.
1. About this policy
This Acceptable Use Policy applies to everyone who uses DearCupid.app, which is operated by Dear Cupid Limited (company number 17232358, registered office 20 Wenlock Road, London, England, N1 7GU). It covers every part of the service: The Love Lounge and other Community features, Love Songs, Connections (our music-based dating service), private messages between matched members, profiles and photographs, Ask Dear Cupid and our interactive features.
It forms part of our Terms of Use. Our Community Guidelines explain the tone we expect in Community spaces, and our Dating Safety Policy gives practical advice for Connections.
2. What Dear Cupid is — and is not
Dear Cupid is a relationship advice, community and music-based dating service for adults looking for friendship, companionship and genuine relationships.
Dear Cupid does not operate, host or promote adult-content, escort, sexually driven or hook-up services, paid sexual encounters, or paid private-chat services. These uses are not permitted anywhere on the platform.
Private messaging is only available between members who have matched with each other. Messages are not charged per message, and Dear Cupid does not sell message credits or pay-per-message chat.
Gold Discs are an optional Connections feature for showing special interest in another member's profile. They are not message credits and do not buy access to private conversations. Paid Gold Disc packs are not currently on sale.
3. Adults only
You must be 18 or over to create an account or use any member feature. Do not create an account for, or share your account with, anyone else. If we have reason to believe a member is under 18, we will restrict the account while we review it.
4. Be honest about who you are
- Use your own account and keep one account per person.
- Give honest information in your profile, including your age bracket, location and what you are looking for.
- Only upload photographs you have the right to share. Photos of you must be genuine and reasonably recent.
- Do not impersonate any person, organisation or Dear Cupid staff, or misrepresent your identity, relationship status or intentions.
5. Fraud, scams and requests for money
- Never ask another member for money, gifts, loans, investments, cryptocurrency, gift cards, bank or card details, passwords or one-time codes.
- Romance scams, investment or cryptocurrency schemes, blackmail, sextortion, phishing and any other fraud are prohibited.
- Do not use Dear Cupid to recruit for, promote or advertise any business, scheme or paid service.
If someone asks you for money or financial details, please stop contacting them and report them.
6. Harassment, threats and coercion
- No harassment, bullying, intimidation, threats, stalking or persistent unwanted contact.
- No coercion, manipulation or pressure — including pressure to meet, move to another app, or share images or personal details.
- Respect a member's decision not to reply, to unmatch or to block you. Do not try to contact them another way.
7. Hate and discrimination
Content that attacks, demeans or incites hatred against people because of their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion or belief, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or any other protected characteristic is prohibited.
8. Sexual content, exploitation and commercial sex
- No sexually explicit images, nudity or sexually explicit text in profiles, photographs, Community spaces or messages.
- No sexual solicitation, including offering or requesting sexual services, escort services, prostitution, "sugar" arrangements or paid companionship.
- No content that sexualises minors in any way. We report child sexual abuse material to the appropriate authorities.
- No sexual exploitation, trafficking or any content that facilitates them.
Frank, respectful conversation about relationships, sex and intimacy in our Community spaces is not prohibited, provided it is not explicit and follows our Community Guidelines.
9. Privacy and images of others
- Do not share another person's private information — such as their full name, address, workplace, phone number, social media handles or photographs — without their permission.
- Never share intimate or sexual images of anyone, or threaten to. Never share images or recordings of anyone taken or shared without their consent.
- Do not screenshot, record or republish another member's profile or private messages to embarrass, expose or harm them.
10. Unlawful content and intellectual property
Do not post or send anything unlawful, including content that infringes someone else's copyright, trade marks or other rights. Do not copy out song lyrics at length or upload photographs, artwork or text you do not have the right to use.
11. Spam, automation and security
- No spam, chain messages, bulk messaging, unauthorised advertising or commercial solicitation.
- No automated or bulk account creation, scraping, bots or scripts, and no use of the service to collect data about members.
- Do not try to get around our moderation, age checks, rate limits, blocks, membership limits or security controls, or access accounts or data that are not yours.
- Do not upload malware or interfere with the service, its infrastructure or other members' use of it.
12. Ask Dear Cupid and AI features
Do not use Ask Dear Cupid or other AI features to create content that breaks this policy, to try to extract other people's information, or to get around the feature's safety limits. Ask Dear Cupid is an AI adviser, not a person or a professional service.
13. Private messaging
Messages between matched members are private, but they must still follow this policy. You can report a message or block a member at any time. Do not use messages to send links to adult, financial or commercial services, or to move a conversation elsewhere under pressure.
14. Reporting and blocking
You can report content, profiles, Love Songs memories and messages using the Report option. Reports are private: the member you report is not told who reported them. A person reviews reports; content is not removed automatically just because it has been reported.
You can block any member. They are not notified, and blocking prevents further contact between you on Dear Cupid.
If anyone is in immediate danger, call 999 in the UK or your local emergency number first.
15. Moderation and enforcement
New Community contributions, edits and profile photographs are checked before they appear — by automated tools where they are switched on and, where needed, by a member of our team. Content may be published, held for review or not published.
If you break this policy, we may remove content, restrict features, issue a warning, suspend your account temporarily or close it permanently, depending on how serious the breach is. Warnings, suspensions and bans are decided by a person. We may also report unlawful activity to the police or other authorities where the law allows or requires it — see our
If an automated check stops your content, you can ask for a person to review it. If you disagree with any other moderation decision, email info@dearcupid.app and we will look at it again.
