These Terms explain the rules for using DearCupid.app during our invitation-only Founding Members Beta.
1. Who we are
DearCupid.app is operated by Dear Cupid Limited, trading as Dear Cupid, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17232358, with its registered office at 20 Wenlock Road, London, England, N1 7GU. You can contact us at info@dearcupid.app.
In these Terms, "Dear Cupid", "we", "us" and "our" mean Dear Cupid Limited. "You" means anyone who visits the website, joins the waiting list or accepts an invitation to the Founding Members Beta. By using DearCupid.app you agree to these Terms.
2. Adults only and invitation-only beta
Dear Cupid is for adults aged 18 and over. By joining the waiting list or accepting an invitation, you confirm that you are at least 18.
During the Founding Members Beta, accounts can only be created through a personal invitation. Invitations are single-use, time-limited, linked to one email address and must not be shared. We may pause or end beta access at any time.
The beta is a test of a service that is still being developed. Features, limits and design may change, and the service may sometimes be unavailable.
3. Your account
Please keep your password secure and do not let anyone else use your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has accessed it.
You can update your profile at any time. Your email address is never shown to other members.
4. Community conduct
When taking part in The Love Lounge you agree to follow our Community Guidelines. In particular, you must not post anything abusive, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, defamatory, deceptive or unlawful; share private or identifying information about another person; impersonate anyone; or use the community for advertising, scams or requests for money.
5. Moderation
Every new discussion, reply, edit and profile photograph is checked before it appears, first by an automated AI moderation tool and, where needed, by a moderator. Content may be published automatically, held for review, or not published if it appears to break our Community Guidelines. You can ask for a person to review an automated decision not to publish your content. Warnings, suspensions and bans are only ever decided by a person. [Draft — subject to legal review.]
We may decline, hide or remove contributions or photographs, issue warnings, or suspend or close accounts where we reasonably believe these Terms or the Community Guidelines have been broken, or to protect members. Members can report content and block other members; reports are reviewed by a person and do not automatically remove content.
6. Ask Cupid
Ask Cupid is an AI relationship adviser. It is not a human, and it is not a therapist, counsellor, doctor or lawyer. Its replies are AI-generated suggestions that may be incomplete or wrong, and they are not professional, medical, psychological or legal advice. Please use your own judgement.
Ask Cupid is not an emergency or crisis service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 999 (UK) or your local emergency number. In the UK you can contact Samaritans on 116 123 at any time.
To keep the service reliable and affordable during the beta, Ask Cupid has daily message limits and may be paused or switched off.
7. Your contentNeeds legal review
You keep ownership of the original text you write and the photographs you upload.
You give Dear Cupid Limited a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, display, format and moderate your contributions on DearCupid.app, only as reasonably needed to operate, display, moderate and maintain the community. We will not use your contributions for advertising or sell them.
This licence ends for a contribution when it is deleted from the service, except for copies we must keep for a limited time for moderation records, legal obligations or routine backups.
You can delete your own discussions and replies at any time, and they are removed from public view straight away. If you ask us to close your account, we will discuss with you whether your published contributions should be removed or shown as written by "Former Member" so that other members' replies still make sense. To request this, email info@dearcupid.app.
Please only post content you have the right to share.
8. Our responsibility to youNeeds legal review
We will provide the service with reasonable care and skill. As the beta is free and still being tested, we cannot promise that it will always be available, error-free or suitable for your particular needs, and we do not promise any particular relationship or personal outcome.
We are not responsible for what other members post, although we moderate contributions and act on reports.
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these Terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that was not foreseeable when you started using the service.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
9. Ending your use
You can stop using Dear Cupid at any time and ask us to close your account by emailing info@dearcupid.app. We may suspend or close accounts as described in section 5.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the service develops. If we make important changes, we will tell members on the website or by email before they take effect.
11. Law and complaintsNeeds legal review
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts. If you have a complaint, please contact us first at info@dearcupid.app and we will try to resolve it.
